Here’s the procedure: First, you put the speaker on the ground. Next, you plug it into the wall. And that’s it! It communicates wirelessly with the soundbar, so simply having it present in the same room is enough to complete the set up procedure. Until they figure out a way to deliver power wirelessly, we can’t think of anyway that Bose could simplify the process. Setup took several tries. Out of the box the acoustimass was putting out too much vibration without any good tones. After running the Bose Adaptiq setup the bass was better but still too much thumping without quality tones. I ended up running the Adaptiq setup using positions closer to the acoustimass than my actual sitting area. This helped to bring the vibration down to a smoother and better sounding level. The bass actually sounded good versus just being thumpy. Bose has manufactured speaker systems for computers since 1987. Some models have a powered subwoofer. From 1994 until the mid-2010s, Bose sold several 5.1 channel audio systems, which used five small satellite speakers and a subwoofer. Early systems used an in-built CD player, followed by a DVD player and later models were AV receivers (which used external audio sources). Set up was as close to effortless as it could be. Bose doesn't publish their replacement parts anywhere and I haven't seen any main board replacements available for the Acoustimass 300 bass module.
