About this deal

A third reason is lower spin throughout the bag. Most of the courses I play are slow and less spin is a plus on every club....So for me it can be course dependent. Snells were designed for tour level swing speed players and tour level skill. Can they also perform well for slower swing, lesser skilled, players?....Some would say absolutely yes, others would say hell no..... The robots aren't much help, they give mixed results. Plus robots are set up to strike the ball "perfectly" on a optimal swing plane. +99% of golfers have less than optimal swing planes and less than perfect strikes. The fact that the two robot tests produced significantly different results (in some areas) simply because different brand drivers/irons were used indicates each of us could see vastly different results based on how each of us swings and what clubs we use. I think the reason that the MTB-X is compared to the top line balls from the big companies is because in terms of both construction and performance, it's a premium ball. It's a three piece ball with distance and spin that is most comparable to the ProV1x, and it's a better performing ball than any second tier ball from any other company. Literally the ONLY comparison between an MTB-X and a second tier ball is the price. A single ball (three percent of the sample) was flagged as bad. That should be regarded as excellent but the Snell MTB-X isn’t perfect. We found minor defects in approximately 50 percent of the sample. Also, everyone have a custom fit 6 iron with the right shaft? Custom fit driver? Custom fit wedge? Those factors affect spin heavily. No indication otherwise, and no indication on the brand either. It just doesn’t make sense to evaluate the performance of a golf ball with clubs that are not optimized for the player. Why you ask? Because it will skew the numbers. Put a ping i200 in my hands with a regular shaft and it goes too high and spins too much for me. Put a Callaway Apex MB with X shaft in a 20 hdcps hands and no spin and low flight.

The more inconsistently a golfer strikes the ball (especially irons) the worst the performance may be using a tour ball over less spinning balls. The finish, which again is infused with silicate particles, seems to grip the face of the club more which corrects some errant swinging. And once you get a good swing off these balls, they carry a long way. They give great flight time and distance. The concept of a Tour-quality golf ball at an affordable price seems like a slam dunk. Who wouldn’t want to get the same quality for less money? Yet the graveyard of such companies is getting increasingly crowded. Low compression with a 1005 Urethane cover? It sounds like a dream to many golf players. If you’re looking for such a golf ball, the TaylorMade Tour Response is your best bet. You can achieve more success on the course with these versatile golf balls. The Snell MTB-X is manufactured by Nassau in South Korea. The factory is among the most reputable in Asia and is notable for having produced TaylorMade’s Tour offerings for a number of years (it does not produce the current TP5). It’s also the factory that manufactured the original Kirkland four-piece ball and continues to produce that ball for other direct-to-consumer brands. Snell MTB-X – Compression Ultimately, both golf balls are great options that can help improve your game; however, it’s up to you to decide which one best suits your style of play. Just remember: there are no wrong answers – at least not when it comes to choosing between these two amazing options! Of course, it should be noted that your own swing speed will be a huge factor in the kind of golf balls you prefer. With that caveat noted, the two balls we will be reviewing today are said to be suitable for a wide range of swing speeds. So let’s get started. The Vice Pro Plus Balls

Timing, as they say, is everything. “We stepped into it at a decent time and created a niche,” says Snell. However, when we look at accuracy, it was above average for shot area from the situations it was designed to be used within (so, not the 85mph and 100mph speeds). Since that success, we’ve been keen to do it again, but first Covid and then PXG’s own ball launch (we’ll only use a robot without any links to a ball manufacturer) meant we had to find another venue – and expensive golf robots don’t grow on trees! He’s since spent time working with adidas in Germany and TaylorMade in Basingstoke and is just coming to theBalls with a firm feel are more suitable for professionals or players with low handicaps. They allow you to gain good distances with your high swing speed while also maintaining control. Firm balls are a little bit difficult to control for high handicap players and do not reach their full potential in distance with low swing speeds. Low Spin However, what I think this test does clearly illustrate is that the Snell balls have comparable performance to what many consider to be the industry leader. If I put them up against other premium balls I would likely see very similar results. As you would expect from a tour caliber golf ball, the Vice Pro balls feature a 3-piece construction. The outer coating feels very thin and has silicate particles interspersed on it. The low compression core is what gives it its soft feel. If you are a beginner, 1-piece is the best choice for you. You should also know that cost of the golf ball rises with each piece. Dimple Pattern Snell classifies the MTB-X as a mid-launch ball. It’s the higher spinning of Snell’s urethane offerings. It’s a three-piece ball with a 360-dimple, cast-urethane cover.
