Description

Beneath the platter is a three-phase, 16-pol brushless DC motor supporting speeds of 33.3, 45 and 78RPM with quartz speed control and an illuminated strobe. The motor provides 4.3KG/CM of starting torque, spinning its platter up to speed in a Meer 0.2 seconds and braking electronically in the same amount of time. mode buttons, three layers with 12 performance modes (Hot Cue, Loop Roll, Slicer, Sampler, Pitch Play, Saved Loop, Slicer Loop, Saved Flips, Platter Play, Transport, 2 User Modes) and dual layer parameter buttons per side

The comparison was fascinating because I could hear the, as it where, family resemblance. That sense of timing and pace supported by the direct drive motor. Both were swift and sprightly in their underlying rhythms. so ist es auch hier.

A phono/line level switch so the turntable can output line level signal for use with mixers without phono level inputs This version is limited to 1500 pieces worldwide and has been enhanced with golden elements. An engraved plate with a unique device code makes every RP-7000 MK2 GLD an exclusive collector's item. In addition, this special edition is supplied with a golden headshell and an exclusively designed slipmat with Reloop signet. The subtle golden elements on the turntable make it a minimal, yet elegant and timeless design. What the Turn 5 had was a superior sense of that bass. The lower frequencies were firmer, massy and with a greater degree of substance. I point that finger directly at the plinth. The Lenco’s being plastic and lightweight and the Turn 5’s metal-based plinth being heavy and sturdy. The Turn 5 provided a greater degree of balance in the mix, therefore, because the lower frequencies were more prevalent, retaining a significant part of the overall soundstage.

To conclude, while the above review is for a fine turntable, i bought two comparably good turntables with a “pure” and traditional signal path for about half the price and i am not sharing this to boast, but rather for the joy of sharing and being an informed consumer, good karma etc… An additional start/stop button has also been integrated to facilitate a vertical setup (battle position) and by using the buttons on the RP-7000 MK2's top panel, you can switch between the three motor speeds (33 1/3, 45 & 78 rpm). Dedicated buttons for forward and reverse mode allow for further creativity in your mix. It seems that I have an over-average sensitivity to wow&flutter, Anything over 0.10 – I can hear it and it bothers me.I know for a fact that this happens because three of my friends are DJs at three different stations and they've all told me about it. What does NAB have to say about the use of very lossy MP3 files? The vast majority of radio stations load up their automation systems with compressed digital files of dubious audio quality and provenance. Sometimes they rip stuff from YouTube!

So what of the Reloop Turn 5? Before we get to that sound, let’s look at the product itself in more depth. Highlights to look out for are Harris’ throaty, sometimes dry and raspy delivery, a pair of lazy acoustic guitar strums, a mandolin solo during the middle eight, occasional but rather subtle piano chords and shy cymbal taps with reverb tails. Part of the problem is that different users have different expectations. This isn't to say that some products aren't more reliable than others, but those who know how to interpret an unweighted rumble spectrum graph are looking at things differently than someone who simply wants to reliably beatmatch records with reasonable sound quality in their bedroom. For the latter group—namely, most of us—you just want things to work. As I say, though, there are differences, most of them good. Against the Technics SL1210 Mk2 (the most popular by far of that discontinued range), you’ll find these differences:

As far as NAB standards, I’m afraid I have to laugh. What does NAB have to say about the use of very lossy MP3 files? The vast majority of radio stations load up their automation systems with compressed digital files of dubious audio quality and provenance. Sometimes they rip stuff from YouTube! Good lord. However, one company that did almost emulate it was Pioneer with its Pioneer DJ brand.
